I am a retired teacher with two sons, and have been a lifelong resident of Warton. I remain a member of St. Paul’s Church and attended the parish school as my father before me and my children did. Nowadays, I am proud to be a member of St. Paul’s Academy’s Local Governing Committee. For many years I have been a volunteer in groups to keep the Ribble estuary and coastline litter free and also help as a Friend at the local County Library to organise community events, including the recently formed Dementia Cafe. I am an In Bloom volunteer, a former Parish Councillor and Fylde Borough Councillor having served on the Planning and Operational Management Committees, becoming Vice Chairman of the latter. I saw for myself the efficiency and responsiveness of Fylde’s waste management team. Just one of its priorities is to assist towns and parishes in their preparation for the RHS North West in Bloom awards and has helped them to achieve so many successes, making Fylde such an attractive place for residents and visitors alike.
It would be an absolute honour to represent the residents of Warton. Our village is very important in Fylde, with a fascinating past, making a major contribution to its economy and to the defence of the UK as a whole since 1940. We have much to be proud of! If elected, my aim is to respond to Warton residents’ concerns and ensure that they enjoy the many benefits of living in a flourishing Fylde.
