I have lived in Freckleton for 70 years and have served on Freckleton Parish Council since 1979, on many occasions as Chairman. I am a 24-hour councillor, always available to give advice and tangible support for Village life, whether that be the junior football (which I’ve supported for years), the frequent community days, improving our Memorial Park, or being involved as President of our Cricket Club. There is a strong Freckleton community and it is a privilege to be at the heart of it as your councillor. I was first elected to Fylde Borough Council in 1979. This followed a career as a Ph.D Biochemist researching into heart disease. I have been successful in being re- elected in ten subsequent elections.
During this time l have held various positions within the Council, including Deputy Leader and Cabinet member for Planning and Economic Development. I am presently the Chairman of the Planning Committee. I have also represented the whole of Lancashire authorities on the North- West Regional Planning Board and have had the pleasure of being the Mayor of Fylde in 2004/5. It would be an honour for me to continue to represent you on the Parish and Borough Council.
