I worked on the old Premium Bonds site for HP (previously EDS) providing support for DWP computer systems ensuring benefits such as state pensions were provided accurately and on time. I am a keen follower of Fylde Rugby Club and enjoy the beautiful St Anne's beach and our great countryside in my spare time. Since being elected in 2019 I have worked tirelessly for the residents of St Anne's and I hope I will continue to do so for many years - this is only the start!
As Deputy Chairman of Tourism and Leisure, I have focussed on bringing events to the town which benefit local residents and businesses by attracting people to visit and spend their money locally. We have the hugely successful Kite Festival and this year for the first time the UK Beach Speedway championships were held in St Anne's.
Now we have a brand new Windsports Centre, I look forward to the sport thriving and attracting newcomers. I have worked closely with residents and officers to help resolve land ownership and planning issues on an unadopted road (Lime Grove), liaised with officers to resolve issues of waste management/fly tipping and potential public health issues, and worked to bring improvements to Ashton Gardens including lighting and upgrading play areas.
As a Town Councillor, I have increased the relevance of Town Council and staged events such as the St Anne's Music Festival and Sounds in the Square - all free to visit events put on for the enjoyment of local residents. I hope in the next term to increase the success of these events even further and make St Anne's a "go to" destination.
