David was born and raised on the Fylde Coast and has always lived here, he has strong links to the construction industry, being the CEO and National Chair of the Forum for the Built Environment and has 25 years' experience in PR, marketing and business. He has an established and extensive network of business contacts in the private and public sector and his work has involved advising MPs and Ministers of State.
David is an experienced charity fundraiser, having been the Chair of Variety (Blackpool, Fylde and Wyre), the children’s charity, for over 10 years; raising substantial funds for local disabled children. He is also CEO of the charity The Feathers Association, founded in 1934, whose principal objective is to provide opportunities for children, young people and communities to develop in a positive way.
David is married with two children, and his wife Kerry (whom he met at Blackpool Sixth Form College) knows the area well, having lived in both Singleton and Elswick.
