I have represented Fairhaven Ward for almost 16 years as both a Fylde Borough and St Annes on the Sea Town Councillor. During that time, I have held several positions of responsibility on Fylde Council, including Portfolio Holder for Health and Wellbeing and Chairman of the Tourism and Leisure Committee. I am currently Deputy Mayor and Chairman of the Town Council’s Policy and Resources Committee and have recently held the office of Deputy Mayor of Fylde Borough.
I am a member of the Community and Neighbourhood (CAN) working group which co-ordinated the hugely successful Music Festival held in August 2022 in Ashton Gardens. I am also responsible for the St Annes Christmas Lights Switch On event, on behalf of the Town Council.
I have for the past 12 years been Chairman of Governors at Weeton School, a position which has been both challenging and rewarding.
Since my election to both Councils, I have unfailingly worked to promote the Borough in its widest sense - one of the greatest achievements has been my involvement in the restoration and development of Fairhaven Lake following the successful bid to the Heritage Lottery Fund.
On a personal level I am known as an active, positive, and approachable local Councillor. I take my ward responsibilities extremely seriously and see myself as a hands-on local councillor who can always find time to assist residents.
I have been immensely proud to represent Fairhaven Ward on both the Borough and Town Councils and am looking forward to the challenge of representing the new ward at the election in May, following local government re-organisation.
