Michelle moved to the Fylde coast in 2017 shortly before marrying her husband Alistair. Michelle was elected to Fylde Council in 2019 to represent Fairhaven Ward bringing with her nearly 20 years of political experience having been an elected member on Bury Council from 2003-2016. Michelle was also the Parliamentary Candidate for Bury South in 2010 alas not winning but obtaining a larger than average swing towards the Conservatives. Michelle was Mayor of Bury from 2014-2015 and Deputy Mayor from 2014-2015.
Since being elected to Fylde Council, Michelle has served on the Environment, Health & Housing Committee and Operational Management Committee, and is appointed to Blackpool, Fylde & Wyre’s Council for Voluntary Services.
Now retired, Michelle worked as Chief Executive for the Manchester based Nicky Alliance Community Centre which offered day care and ancillary services to older members of the Greater Manchester Jewish community. Michelle is also Vice President of St Anne’s Hebrew Congregation, a Trustee on the Grand Theatre in Blackpool, a Trustee on Vision Multi Academy Trust (Bury) and Chairman of the Blackpool and Fylde Jewish Welfare Association.
Michelle very much enjoys being involved with the local community and hence why she hopes to be re-elected to stand for a further 4 years in May.
I have 3 grown up children and 3 young grandsons, who love having a grandma who lives by the sea!
